Visionary of the Year award winner for American Spa, Tara Grodjesk has been an innovator and leader in the wellness space for over 30 years. She has been a consultant to world-class spas and is a master developer of spa concepts, treatment programs and exceptional products. Ms. Grodjesk has a degree in Psychology, is a Certified Massage Therapist, Holistic Health Educator, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Aroma Therapist.

Tara has been an active participant of ISPA since its inception 30 years ago and was Chairwoman of ISPA’s first taskforce on Greening and Sustainability. Tara is a Founder Emeritus of the Green Spa Network and for 10 years co-chaired the GSN Congress and GSN’s most significant annual fundraiser, the Buyer’s Conference. In recognition of her longstanding commitment to GSN, Tara was honored by the GSN Dedicated Contributor Award being named after her. Her company is a winner of the Plastic Reduction Challenge, a contest of the international organization Plastic Pollution Coalition.

Tara’s most recent industry contribution has been the “Grace in Uncertainty” zoom series for conscious leadership. And prior to that, her Women in Leadership forum and Women as Gamechangers trainings, providing inspiration, mentorship and leadership cultivation for women in the spa industry. As a mentor, she has hosted 17 annual Women’s Retreats for Spa Professionals.

Attila grew up in Budapest, Hungary until he and his brother, Boldijarre, moved to Canada in 1996 with the mission of bringing skin care crafted from natural, organic and Biodynamic® ingredients worldwide. Attila first trained as a civil engineer, developing a keen eye for strategy, logistics, exact numbers and efficiency. Leveraging this skillset with his degree in engineering, Attila plays a key role in the vision of Eminence Organic Skin Care’s ongoing commitment to the environment by ensuring all offices and warehouses are dedicated to green practices. From the eco-friendly Vancouver office, Attila oversees the Hungary-based certified organic farm’s production and manufacturing.

He has been honored with the lauded Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst & Young for Eminence’s contributions to the community and the Province of British Columbia. Attila also led Eminence to become the first professional skin care company in Canada to achieve qualification as a Certified B Corporation.

Attila has been actively involved with GSN Planet since Eminence began its partnership with the organization in 2013. He has attended the GSN Congress every year since and often serves as a guest speaker at events.

Charné began her career as an intellectual property lawyer during which time she developed a keen interest and commitment towards organic cosmetics, sustainable agriculture and green buildings. In 2003 she combined her corporate background with these skills to conceive and develop the first dedicated organic spa in South Africa. To wide acclaim, she received the prestigious Les Nouvelles Award for Unique Spa and also an award for excellence from the regional Institute for Architects in recognition of the sustainable design features of the spa building. In 2010, Charné qualified as an accredited professional of the Green Building Council of South Africa and received the Les Nouvelles Visionary Award.

Speaking on sustainability at major conferences and training institutions, Charné has published a number of articles and essays, including authoring the Green Spa Guide, sharing her knowledge of green building principles, fair trade, organic cosmetics and sustainability with the wellbeing industry. Through Charné’s leadership and guidance, Greenspa.Africa connects sustainable spa’s in Africa, assisting them in implementing sustainable business practices. Charné’s work continues expanding in the development of integrated sustainability tools such as the Sustainable Spa Practitioner Course and Greenspa Calculator, an audit tool available as a mobile app.

With over 20 years of experience in successfully opening, operating and consulting for spas owned by private equity and publicly traded companies, Rianna has been instrumental in advancing spa careers and the financial equity of spas all over the country. Recently involved in the transformation and rebranding of an iconic hot springs mineral spa into the first carbon neutral wellness resort in North America, Rianna also helped create the vision and develop the first affordable wellness destination resort. Her continuing involvement with GSN Planet as a board member since 2010 has influenced Rianna’s evolution into an established sustainable wellness expert with a unique brand of authenticity, transparency and proven success in the development, launch and marketing of wellness resorts and concepts.

On a personal level, describes herself as a resilient lover of life, modern day tree hugger, dedicated doggie mom, foodie and loyal friend. She grew up in Manila Philippines and moved to the US in 1987. She has lived in New Jersey, Hawaii, Florida, Arizona and California where recently moved to LA with her partner Kevin and 13 year old lab Chawmba.
