Bonnie is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the wellness industry focusing on hospitality, ecotourism, spa development, and traditional therapies. She brings a wealth of hands-on experience having worked with some of the leading Hotel companies and Spa Brands around the world such as the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, and re-known locations such as Tabacón Thermal Springs in Costa Rica, and Chablé Resort in Mexico.  Because of her passion for promoting ecological practices, Bonnie was voted Environmental Leader of 2018 by American Spa Magazine. She resides in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where she operates IRIS Spa at Dos Casas Hotel, and a family-run Biodynamic Farm and Learning Center.

She has been working for the past 9 years as the Executive Director for Intentional Health & Wellness and is responsible for the oversight of all Acupuncture Practitioner recruitment, on-boarding, training, operations, and revenue management, menu and business development for their practices within spa locations around the country.  She is also the Area Director for Exhale and manages the Exhale spa and fitness facilities in Miami, a revolutionary well-being brand where body meets mind.

Suzy Bordeaux Johlfs,  has 30 years of  experience in her hospitality career.   Her current role is with the  Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa California,  as she proudly holds  the Spa Director  title at this iconic resort.   Earlier she successfully opened a Platinum LEED Certified Resort  in Colorado, where she was part of a team that  won two prestigious  Conde Nast  Reader ‘s Choice Awards back to back. 2010  # 1  Resort  in the United States and  in 2011  #2 Spa  in the United States as well as opened the spa as the first luxury green spa in the state of Colorado.  She loves to spend time with her family, as well as enjoy a great bottle of wine, as she is former wine bar owner and collector.

His involvement in sustainability is nothing new. The past 10 years and particularly with companies like LUX* Resorts in Mauritius, Aman Resort in Dominican Republic and more recently with Chable’ Yucatan where he currently is the General Manager, he has contributed in developing and implementing sustainable policies helping the local community, the environment and educating its guests in all the activities the resort is involved.

In the water. I think I was a fish in a previous life.

I follow various but two are particularly interesting when it comes to green activities and sustainability (even if both are competitors!). One is Six Senses Hotels & Resorts and the other is Cayuga Collection. Both are consistent in their activities and language and have a proven history.

 In the forest – both in the mountains here in California- and also the tropical forests that cover the islands in Hawai’i.

Seek alternatives to plastic.  We recycle, compost and reuse as much as we can but getting my family out of using plastic has become a necessity.  And now that we are doing it, it really is not that hard.

San Luis Obispo County is such a magical place! I’m so grateful that I live close to so many beautiful hiking trails through rolling hills or can easily head to the coast. I feel most connected when I’m able to soak up some sunshine and dig my toes into the sand while watching the wildlife and the waves roll onto the shore.

I love following our local land conservancy, @ecoslo! I learn so much about our impact on the environment at a local level and love seeing what other businesses are doing when it comes to sustainability.

The most connected I ever felt to nature was the day spent hiking in Yosemite.  It was truly awe-inspiring to be immersed in this powerful, majestic place and witness the beauty and history of this region.  As much as I love being near the ocean, it is always in the mountains where I feel the most connected, grounded, grateful and happy.
