Where do you feel the most connected to nature?
First off, I love the great outdoors! I feel most connected with nature when we go dry camping as a family in our airstream. My daily life if fairly busy working full time, plus running Holistic Umbrella, participating in non-profit work and being a mom. So I don’t get to be outside as much as I would love to. However, when opportunity arises I am the first one to play frisbee in the grass, sleep on the beach listening to the waves, swimming in the pool with the kiddos and of course camping.
What’s your favorite/must follow green blog or social media account?
I would have to say my favorite green blogger would be Kathryn creator of GoingZeroWaste.com. She is also the author of 101 ways to go zero waste. A focus on living more sustainable and a healthier life by limiting the amount of waste we produce.
What’s one thing you make sure you do every day for the planet?
The one thing I do daily for the planet is something everyone could do and it doesn’t cost a single cent. I wake up and thank mother earth for the beautiful day ahead. In the early morning when I grab a cup of decaf coffee I walk outside and listen to the birds chirp. I intentionally for those few minutes focus on the sounds of nature. Setting up the day with gratitude for mother earth allows me to make more conscious decisions regarding my footprint on this planet. Even though I would love to convert my life to 100% eco and sustainable ways; I’m aware we don’t all have the ability and access to choose those resources. I know I am doing my part when I avoid single use plastics, drive less often, use biodegradable dog bags (even the little things) and turn off the water when I’m brushing my teeth. Thank you mother earth!
